Yankees vs. Mariners prediction: Bet on a Domingo German rebound

Can Domingo German (4-4, 4.30 ERA) rebound from his worst start of the season?

We’ll find out on Thursday when German and the Yankees host the Mariners.

German got hammered by the Red Sox over the weekend, allowing a season-worst seven runs over just two innings in a 15-5 Boston romp.

The poor performance was out of the ordinary for a pitcher who has performed well since the start of May.

In his prior seven outings, German had allowed two runs or fewer six times.

Yankees vs. Mariners pick

(7:05 p.m. ET. YES)

On the mound for Seattle will be Bryan Woo (0-1, 7.30 ERA).

The young right-hander will be making just his fourth career start.

Woo actually hasn’t pitched poorly since he allowed seven hits and six runs in his MLB debut against Texas.

In his two starts since, Woo has given up four runs in 10¹/₃ innings with the Mariners winning both games.

The Yankees haven’t been setting the world on fire as of late, but this feels like a good spot to back the Bronx Bombers.

Pitching in Yankee Stadium is never easy, especially for a 23-year-old rookie such as Woo.

I expect German to bounce back against a team he has beaten twice in the last two seasons, with the Yankees winning the two games by a combined score of 17-6.

The moneyline is a little high with Woo on the mound, but I don’t have a problem backing the Yankees to win on the runline here.
