Anthony Black’s mom getting Jeanie Buss comparisons at 2023 NBA Draft

Add Anthony Black’s mom to the growing list of breakout stars at the 2023 NBA Draft.

After the former Arkansas guard was selected with the sixth overall pick by the Magic on Thursday night, Jennifer Black gave the best sales pitch when asked by ESPN’s Monica McNutt what type of player Orlando is getting.

Jennifer confidently stated the Magic selected a hardworking, dedicated player, who will have an impact on the court, as well as in the locker room.

The proud mom gushed that the 19-year-old will help change the culture in Orlando.

“They’re getting a great human, a leader, phenomenal basketball player, a winner, someone who is going to make everyone around him better, someone who is going to make the culture of the team great. They’re getting the full package,” Jennifer told ESPN in an interview after the pick.

The blonde, who looked radiant in a bright red dress, received praise from NBA Twitter.

After NBA commissioner Adam Silver announced his name, Black — a 6-foot-7 point-forward — turned to his mother and hugged her before he went to the stage.

Black led the SEC in minutes played and was the only Arkansas player to start every game this past season.
